Workshop Description

Case managers are often trained in trauma informed care, but applying those principles consistently across programs, teams, and systems can be challenging, especially when working within high demand, resource constrained environments.

Participants will examine how trauma informed care and cultural responsiveness intersect, with a focus on how systemic inequities, racism, and structural barriers shape client experiences and access to services. The workshop will guide participants in identifying gaps between intention and implementation, and in building practical strategies that can be integrated into day to day workflows.

Through real world examples and applied exercises, participants will begin developing a program level framework that aligns staff practices, client interactions, and service delivery with trauma informed and culturally responsive principles.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with concrete tools and a clear starting point for strengthening their programs in ways that are consistent, equitable, and sustainable.
