WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Nonprofits often struggle to move beyond performative Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) statements and create meaningful, sustainable change. This is especially true when equity work triggers organizational trauma (e.g., resistance, burnout, or retraumatization of marginalized staff). In a time when this work is more important than ever, yet facing misinformation and resistance, passionate leaders in this field must be intentional and engaging. This interactive workshop guides participants through a trauma-informed DEIB action planning process, blending strategic frameworks with healing-centered practices to ensure equity initiatives are effective, inclusive, and sustainable.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is ideal for executive directors, DEIB leads, human resources staff, communications professionals, board members, and passionate advocates who want to turn DEIB commitments into action without replicating harmful systems.
What The Training Will Cover
Analyze your organization’s DEIB efforts through a trauma-informed lens, identifying barriers to psychological safety and inclusion.
Facilitate DEIB discussions using healing-centered techniques to reduce harm and center employee voices.
Activate and engage your teams to tackle the most pressing DEIB issues.
Design action plans and accountability measures that prioritize both equity outcomes and staff well-being, avoiding burnout and performative allyship.
