Workshop Description

Optimize your brand’s first impression so that it leads to funding. During this two-day workshop, together, we will transform passive interest into meaningful engagement using a simple and repeatable first impression framework. Through real-time audits, breakout reviews, and hands-on exercises, you’ll uncover what your audience actually experiences when they encounter your brand - and how to fix what’s holding them back from giving.

Day 1: Understanding the Big Picture

  • Explore how your audience experiences your brand from an outside perspective

  • Understand why attention does not always lead to donations

  • Examine how first impressions influence trust and decision-making

  • Identify common breakdowns across websites, messaging, and brand presence

  • Participate in live audits of nonprofit brands

Day 2: Applying Strategies and Improving Execution

  • Apply Day 1 insights to your own website or digital presence

  • Diagnose system-level issues contributing to donation hesitation

  • Learn how to build credibility and trust online

  • Improve accessibility and visibility of your brand

  • Strengthen emotional connection to drive action and engagement

  • Engage in live audits of example and participant nonprofit brands

  • Receive and provide peer feedback

  • Work through practical, hands-on exercises

  • Leave with clear, actionable insights

  • Gain tools to strengthen your brand, increase engagement, and improve fundraising outcomes

Additional Information

Each workshop session is live. Registrants receive slides & handouts. It is expected participants will be able to be on camera and able to unmute for some portions of the training to participate in discussions. Full recordings are not provided. This training must be done sequentially. If you miss a session, please reach out to program@nonprofitlearninglab.org.
