Workshop Description
First Session
Identify the communication challenges that you and your team face the most often and are the most difficult to address. Develop solutions to these challenges no matter how impossible you feel they are. Create simple and powerful ways to describe the impact your organization makes that can fit on a bumper sticker or a T-shirt. Learn how to easily create stories that can be used in conversations AND all your messaging and communications. Choose one new thing to try before Session 2 when explaining the impact your organization makes.
Second Session
Reflect on the takeaways from Session 1 and the new things you’ve tried. Dive deeper into developing solutions for the questions you get asked about your organization that are the hardest to answer AND that would make the biggest difference if you had better answers. Take away new simpler and more effective messages to use in daily conversations and all your communications. Learn how to shift your mindset from giving elevator speeches to engaging in two-way conversations -- when asked questions about your organization. Leave with an Action Plan to get everyone on the same page when talking about your organization.

Each workshop session is live. Registrants receive slides & handouts. It is expected participants will be able to be on camera and able to unmute for some portions of the training to participate in discussions. Full recordings are not provided. This training must be done sequentially. If you miss a session, please reach out to program@nonprofitlearninglab.org.

About the Trainer
Cassandra is a high energy, passionate lifelong learner. She has worked with over 200 organizations to increase their impact, some of which include the Arizona Community Foundation, Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Southern Arizona, National Alliance on Mental Illness Southern Arizona, Arizona State Library, University of Arizona, and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. She has extensive experience in building capacity for policy and system change, community engagement, strategy development, and adoption of collective leadership in the social sector.
