Workshop Description

Your staff are already using AI. The question is whether you're governing it—or hoping for the best. Here's the problem: 68-82% of nonprofit employees are using generative AI tools right now, but only 5-14% of organizations have an AI use policy in place. That 60+ point governance gap exposes your organization to serious fiduciary risk—uncontrolled data exposure, inconsistent practices, and the kind of "hope-based development" that keeps finance and operations leaders up at night.

Who Should Attend

Nonprofit professionals interested in how to implement AI into their operations.

What the Training Will Cover

  • Apply a values-based reflection framework to establish organization-specific boundaries around AI use, distinguishing between work that requires human judgment and work that can be appropriately delegated to AI tools.

  • Identify the essential building blocks of an effective nonprofit AI use policy, including data protection requirements, governance structures, and fiduciary accountability measures.

  • Draft initial policy language addressing their organization's specific needs and risk profile using established nonprofit AI governance templates and best practices.
