WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Organizations have encountered much change in the past few years. Building a reliable method of earned revenue can help your organization emerge from the grant funder or gala-dependent cycle. What are your organization's strengths, assets, services, or expertise that could be utilized for earned revenue? How can you make sure to manage and build an earned revenue model that delivers to your community's expectations? In this workshop, we will explore practical examples from other organizations and review steps to build, manage and maintain earned revenue models. Participants will explore new opportunities through analyzing their organization’s assets, reflecting on their goals, and reviewing practical examples from other organizations to generate additional revenue streams outside of the traditional donor funding.

WHAT THE TRAINING WILL COVER

 

READINESS AND PREPARATION 

  • Understand if your nonprofit is ready to develop a new revenue stream and assess capacity to launch a fee-for-service model

  • Review examples and models to learn best practices from other organizations

 

PLANNING AND STRATEGY 

  • Review the necessary planning steps including business plan, clear sense of a budget, risk management, policies and procedures, and resources needed for earned revenue models

  • Analyze how to develop and implement a plan and support your team to adapt as needed

  • Understand effective ways to establish pricing models that align

  • Utilize activities from a workbook to help you brainstorm and plan for the future

WHAT TECHNOLOGY OR OTHER THINGS DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?

  • Laptop or desktop absolutely no cell phone

  • We will be using Zoom meeting for the training

  • Camera on your laptop or desktop - the trainer and other participants need to be able to see you during breakout rooms in order to engage in conversation 

  • Audio on your laptop or desktop

  • Ability to login at least 5-10 minutes in advance of the workshop start time for audio check

  • We cannot provide a full recording of this training because sometimes participants will be in breakout rooms. If you are going to miss a session you have options to participate in a different session to make up for one you missed. 

  • Participants will receive slides and a helpful template to use for design, scaling and re-imaging programs.
