Amelia Kohm | Data Viz for Nonprofits
We hear a lot about applying data to action. But for data to make an impact, it must first take a journey through the human mind. Understanding the challenges of that journey helps us to present data so that the mind can actually see, grasp, remember, and apply it. In this workshop, participants will learn about: Attention and Memory. How to present data so that it not only makes it through the entry gate (attention) but stays there long enough to influence decision making (memory).
Perception. How to present data to avoid the human mind's perception glitches and to capitalize on its perception super powers. Specifically, we will consider: data blind spots, social influence, assumptions and beliefs, and visual super processing.

Many people think that being in need of funding means they are ready to receive a grant award, but there is so much more to it. To be successful in your grant seeking journey, you have to have a solid foundation of people, processes, and plans before you can be ready to apply for, receive, and manage grant funding. Preparation on the front end will set your organization up for success to use grants as a component of your fundraising strategy.
Understand Trust on Teams: Psychology, Behaviors, and Building Sustainable Action Plans - June 9 + 16
Betsy Block | B3 Coach
How do you build trust in a team in a way that lasts? Trust is built over time with intention and trust is a choice that individuals and teams make every day. In fact, teams with high trust don’t focus on building trust itself. Rather, they work on behaviors and systems that sustain trust over time. This interactive workshop explores how to create the shared understanding of trust within a team, and develop those behaviors. Using research-backed insights, we will examine the stages of trust development, the difference between interpersonal trust and team trust, and some stages that teams go through as trust grows. Participants will gain practical strategies to strengthen team dynamics, navigate trust challenges, and foster a culture where trust becomes a shared commitment rather than a one-time initiative. Expect to leave with a deeper understanding of how trust functions within organizations and the tools to influence trust-based behaviors in your own team.

The landscape of nonprofit storytelling is undergoing a profound transformation, with organizations recognizing that how we tell stories is just as important as the stories themselves. This timely workshop addresses the need to move away from outdated practices that can inadvertently harm or exploit vulnerable communities while embracing emerging approaches that center dignity, agency, and well-being for storytellers, story owners, and audiences. As nonprofits navigate an increasingly complex communications environment, understanding and implementing trauma-informed storytelling practices isn't just about ethics—it's about creating more effective, authentic narratives that resonate with audiences while honoring the communities we serve.

We'll then move into a breakdown of the variety of non-cash assets, whether a nonprofit wants to include them in their Gift Acceptance Policy, and how to talk with professional advisors and donors about those appreciated assets that can become major income for nonprofits.

Every organization has faced unstable periods or change, but what makes an organization last is ensuring that decisions during these times are not made out of fear—especially when the uncertainty is around equity. Shifts in public expectations, community needs, language, and frameworks related to equity are being challenged. These moments can create discomfort or confusion about how to move forward. Even if you believe your organization is in a stable place, it’s important to regularly assess how you're communicating about equity and whether your team understands the organization’s values, commitments, and direction. Leaders who take time to pause, reflect, and gather input during times of uncertainty are more likely to make equitable decisions that are inclusive and clear. When teams have a shared understanding of what equity means in practice, they’re more confident in how to contribute to that vision and support each other through change.
