Whitney Martin | ProActive Consulting
We’re all familiar with the hard and soft costs associated with poor employee selection decisions. However, perhaps more importantly, hiring the wrong person is PAINFUL. Painful for the person who has to manage them, for their teammates, for the individual who was hired and is now failing, and for HR or the Selection Committee who finds themselves back at square one. Poor selection decisions happen because the decision criteria at our disposal are limited, often subjective, and unreliable. In this session, we'll learn how to infuse additional, objective data points into the selection process in order to increase the odds of making the best hire every time.

Jessica Pugil | Working Partner, in partnership with The Association of Consultants to Nonprofits (ACN)
Evaluation is shifting away from an emphasis on accountability to building a culture of equity and learning. A thoughtful evaluation process can: keep your focus on your mission; help make decisions about allocating resources; tell you if your work is making a difference; and motivate your funders and donors. This session will review the key steps of an evaluation that can help make your evaluations more interactive and equitable.
Amelia Kohm | Data Viz for Nonprofits
Data storytelling is the art of translating complex data into compelling narratives. It goes beyond a mere presentation of numbers and charts. It's about weaving data, visuals, and narrative into a cohesive story that resonates with your audience. Effective data storytelling makes information more accessible, memorable, and actionable. When done well, data storytelling is less like a novel and more like a choose-your-own-adventure. It takes your hand and leads you through the story but allows you to see that the data can tell any number of stories. It invites you in, orients you, and lets you explore.
Maria Bryan | Maria Bryan Creative
Even when names and faces are protected, stories can still speak volumes. Anonymity doesn’t weaken a story, it challenges us to tell it with more creativity and integrity. When safety, consent, or privacy are at stake, anonymizing a story can be the most trauma-informed and ethical path forward. This training will guide you through how to share anonymous stories that are still rich and emotionally resonant. Through case studies of real nonprofit examples, you’ll explore how other organizations have used anonymity with intention and impact. You’ll also learn how to navigate consent conversations, craft compelling narratives without identifiers, and build trust with your audience by clearly communicating the context behind anonymous storytelling.
