Nonprofits are being encouraged to adopt AI, but readiness is about more than choosing tools. Before implementation, organizations need to consider leadership, capacity, governance, and organizational priorities. This session explores a practical approach to thinking about AI readiness and offers a roadmap for beginning mission-aligned conversations that support responsible adoption.

Every nonprofit depends on people working toward the same goals. When knowledge is scattered across programs or only in the minds of a few people, it's challenging to make good decisions, communicate consistently, and adapt to change. This interactive workshop explores shared organizational understanding as a practical capacity-building strategy that helps organizations preserve knowledge, improve impact, and build long-term resilience.

Strong foundation pipelines are built by intentionally identifying and prioritizing funding opportunities that align with your organization’s goals. In this two-part series, learn how to identify foundation prospects, assess fit with funder priorities and guidelines, and prioritize opportunities based on real potential. Rather than building long prospect lists, you’ll develop clear criteria for determining which funders are worth pursuing and how they fit into your fundraising strategy. Leave with a structured approach to researching and prioritizing foundation prospects, along with concrete next steps to strengthen your pipeline.

Clear, compelling communications are more important than ever. But communications budgets, never large to begin with, are shrinking. So how can you do more with less? This practical, hands-on workshop will show you how to build a comprehensive, cost-effective communications plan that advances your mission and supports your strategic goals. Through real-world examples, you’ll learn how to focus your efforts, maximize limited resources, and implement strategies that deliver measurable results. Participants will leave with a clear framework and actionable tools to help their organizations build awareness, generate interest, and drive meaningful engagement—without increasing their budget.

Cassandra O'Neill | Leadership Alchemy LLC

In the first session, identify your team’s biggest communication challenges and develop practical solutions, along with simple ways to communicate your organization’s impact. Learn how to create compelling stories that can be used across conversations, messaging, and communications, then choose one new approach to try before Session 2. In the second session, reflect on what you learned and tested while developing stronger answers to the questions your organization is asked most often. Leave with clearer messaging, strategies for engaging in meaningful two-way conversations, and an Action Plan to help your team communicate consistently.

A strong budget helps nonprofits make informed decisions, align resources with their mission, and prepare for growth. In this workshop, participants will explore best practices for developing and implementing a realistic, collaborative nonprofit budget. Learn how to engage staff and leadership, strengthen board conversations around financial priorities, and align budgeting decisions with strategic goals and funding realities. Participants will leave with practical strategies for creating a mission-focused and sustainable budgeting process.
