3 Tips to Improve Your Nonprofit's Marketing Outreach

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

1. Utilize Your Nonprofit’s Social Media Presence

Nowadays, your nonprofit’s presence on social media can help grow your audience drastically! Don’t let popular social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn scare you! Improving your nonprofit’s social media presence can be as simple as interacting with current or prospective donors, members, and partner organizations. Recent tools such as Meta Business Suite on Facebook have made managing your nonprofit’s social media easier with features like the Planner, which allows you to schedule posts in advance. Utilizing other media tools such as hashtags, stories, and reels can also help your nonprofit increase its outreach and overall audience!

2. Connect with your Audience

Sometimes asking your audience the simple question, “What do you want to see?”, can help your nonprofit organization understand who you are currently reaching, as well as help you adjust your marketing strategy for future outreach. Including an online survey in your organization’s e-newsletters is a great way to receive this data from your audience.

3. Form Partnerships with Similar Organizations

Forming partnerships with similar organizations can help your nonprofit reach new audiences. Establishing an exchange of resources like blog posts or dedicated space in e-newsletters, or making social media posts can help both organizations in the partnership offer new resources to their existing audiences, while also reaching out to new audiences.

At the Nonprofit Learning Lab, our program partners share our nonprofit trainings, webinars, events, and resources with their community. Our program partner partnership provides your organization with an opportunity to share free nonprofit resources. In exchange, we promote your organization to our nonprofit network.
