WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In the 2-session "Data-Driven Presentations" workshop, participants will learn how to transform raw numbers into captivating stories and visuals that not only resonate with their audience, but drive action as well. The workshop will review the foundational elements of data visualizations, so that attendees gain a comprehensive understanding of charts and graphs that facilitate clear and effective data communication.
Moving beyond the basics, the workshop will also delve into the realm of advanced data visualizations, as well as learn how to craft customized infographics, understanding when and how to employ these visual wonders to enhance the narrative of their data presentations.
Central to the workshop is the art of storytelling with data. Attendees will learn the strategies to breathe life into their data, contextualizing it in ways that make it both memorable and powerful. By incorporating storytelling techniques into their presentations, they will leave a lasting impression on their audience, engaging them on a deeper level and driving actionable insights.

Day 1: Executive-Level Presentations & Data Storytelling
Executive-level storytelling: the foundational principles of telling an executive-level story
Tailoring to Your audience: how to better understand your audience and tailor your presentation for an effective outcome
Presentation objectives: understanding the objective and desired outcome of your presentation and tailoring your presentation and calls to action in order to drive decision-making
Avoiding "information overload": keeping your most relevant, powerful material in the body and how to decide what goes in the appendix
Using text & images effectively: how to balance visual elements with text for an impactful and visually engaging slide
Day 2: Data Visualizations
Data visualizations: foundational elements of charts and graphs that aid in clear data communication
Advanced data visualizations: how to create more complex data visualizations and when to use them
Infographics: how to create customized infographics and when they are appropriate to use
Storytelling with data: how to put data into perspective so that it is memorable and impactful
Presenting your data: what to say about your data visualizations in a live presentations

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Libby Magliolo has spent her career in corporate strategy and on telling compelling executive-level stories through both visual and verbal presentations. After completing her MBA, she spent time in management consulting with PwC, and has spent the last decade in roles including corporate strategy & planning as well as corporate training and development. The constant focus throughout her career has been giving executive-level presentations, as well as prepare the visual element of that presentation, usually in PowerPoint. She currently runs a corporate training business that focuses on teaching professionals the core skills needed to create and deliver powerful presentation.
