We've all heard what works in fundraising, but do we understand the how's and why's? This session will translate empirical research from the sector into a language we can all understand. We will explore what habits motivate donors and strengthens our relationships with them. Gain clarity on how stewardship methods work or do not work for different types of donors, and understand the factors researchers have uncovered as to why people make donations or choose not to.
ABOUT THE TRAINER
Stephanie Cory, CAP®, CFRE is committed to strengthening the nonprofit sector through education. She has dedicated her career to the sector for nearly 20 years. Stephanie has served as an executive director for a health advocacy organization, as well as held development and program management roles for organizations serving seniors and people with disabilities. She has consulted for a variety of other organizations, helping them strengthen their governance and fundraising. Recognized for her excellence in teaching and facilitation, Stephanie was named a Master Trainer by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). As part of her work toward an MEd in adult and organizational development, she has completed extensive research, including original data analysis, on donor motivation and the effects of stewardship on donor retention.
