Fundraising officers burn out when they work alone but creating relationships with donors isn’t an exhausting chore when it is a shared expectation among the board, staff, and leadership. Nonprofits that encourage, celebrate, and support advocacy from all participants are not dealing with nearly as much turnover because they maintain a Culture of Philanthropy. And it’s easier than you think.

Amy Fiore is a nonprofit leadership, planning, and fundraising professional who, prior to consulting, served as Executive Director at an arts and social service agency for children in hospitals and care facilities. Prior to that, Amy was the Managing Director and Director of Development for TADA! Youth Theater for nearly a decade and served in leadership roles at several esteemed Manhattan-based cultural institutions. Amy has been an adjunct professor on nonprofit management at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and has been a guest lecturer for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Center for Nonprofits, the Association for Development Officers, and Americans for the Arts, among many others. Amy works with a wide range of nonprofit clients specializing in board and staff training/retreats, strategic planning, fundraising plans and implementation, project management, and interim leadership. She has recruited, trained, and managed staff; devised and managed institutional budgets; recruited, onboarded, and trained boards, staffs and committees; conceptualized, wrote copy, and designed countless marketing and donor appeals. Amy is Managing Director for Sobel Bixel: Consulting for Nonprofits and also serves as the Director of Development for The Story Pirates.
