Calling All Board Members and Leaders: Governing Through Times of Crisis

The workshop, co-facilitated by Amanda Kearney-Smith, MS, and Richard Eveleigh, MPA, will provide boards with tools and strategies that will strengthen their effectiveness in the context of the uncertainty caused by COVID-19. Boards are finding themselves challenged in the areas of conducting business remotely, providing effective support for the executive leadership, fundraising, and direction. The training addresses each of these factors so that boards can strengthen their leadership role at this challenging time.

The Nonprofit Strategy Group is led by Richard Eveleigh and Amanda Kearney-Smith. The two bring over 35 years of nonprofit leadership experience to their consulting work. Richard’s experience includes teaching, case management, and providing executive leadership to nonprofit organizations in the fields of mental health and suicide prevention. Richard holds an MPA from the University of Colorado and a Master of Applied Philosophy from the University of Hull. Amanda’s background is in college instruction, human services, and advocacy; she founded and led a nonprofit organization for nine years before transitioning to consulting work. Amanda holds a Master of Science degree in Development Psychology from Illinois State University.
