WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

The board knows you need fundraising help, committed to a give/get, and yet they struggle to make an ask? It is time to reframe what you are asking them to do. This workshop will redefine your board’s role in the fundraising process, lessen the intimidation factor, and provide tips and tools to engage them in essential fundraising needs for your organization without ever asking for a dime. In turn, you will enlist their support in the cultivation process and be poised to develop an even more substantial pipeline of donors than before.  We recommend that two members join from each organization, (ideally one from the board), and is suitable for executive and managing directors, board members, and development directors.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Presented by Amy Fiore, Vice President and Jeffrey Sobel Consulting.  Amy Fiore joined the JSC team after serving as an executive director at an arts and social service agency for children in hospitals and care facilities. Prior to that, Amy was the Managing Director and Director of Development for TADA! Youth Theater and served in leadership roles at several esteemed Manhattan-based cultural institutions. Amy has been an adjunct professor on nonprofit management at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and has been a guest lecturer at NYU, Baruch College, the Alliance of Resident Theaters-NY, AFP-NJ, and Americans for the Arts. Amy also currently serves as the Director of Development for The Story Pirates. With JSC, Amy typically serves as a Client Lead and project manager specializing in board and staff training/retreats, strategic planning, fundraising plans and implementation, project management, and interim leadership. She has recruited, trained, and managed staff; devised and managed institutional budgets of $2M+; recruited, onboarded, and trained boards and committees; and conceptualized, wrote copy, and designed countless marketing and donor appeals.
